Weekly update, week 14

April 12th, 2010

Week 14 was really dominated, for me, by the rate hike decided by RBA which shot the AUDNZD above 1.32 again. This time I hedged my positions thou and closed the hedges on the way down. I had some left too long thou, which cost me dearly in the end. I miss placed the SL on quite a few trades so that they were not closed at 1.3120 as intended. Clumsy me put them at 1.3020. A very costly error (that will show even more in next weeks update). Mea culpa, no one to blame but me.

Total gain over the week was $228.28. Next week won’t be so nice thou, since a lot of the hedges are still open and in the red.

w1014_alpariukAlpari UK live micro account. Trades FAP Turbo, MegaDroid and Green.

Rather uneventful week at Alpari UK since Green here only trades EURCHF, and that pair was very tightly fixed for the entire week. The drop in the graph is a stop loss by MegaDroid GMT+0. Total loss was €2.49.

Forex.com/UK live account. Trades MegaDroid and Green.

The nice rise in balance is closed manual hedge trades in AUDNZD. I then had some open way to far on the way down to produce the losses at the end of the week. Total gain was $435.44.

Jade FX live account. Trades FAP Turbo, MegaDroid and Forex Shocker.

The performance of Jade FX has been great since the liquidity switch. I wanted to take advantage of that so I added $800 to the account last weekend. Of course I then got hit by four stoplosses in USDCHF by Forex Shocker (0.15 lots each). EURGBP and EURUSD stood for very nice gains luckily so total loss was “just” $58.17

The Collective FX live account. Trades MegaDroid and Green.

This account was also hit by incorrectly set SL levels on hedges in AUDNZD. It really bugs me since if they would have been placed correctly they would have been small gains instead of huge losses. A human error of course, I should only rely on machines in the future. Total loss was $145.68.
