Wow, hard day and week

July 15th, 2009

This is probably the worst start of a week possible. First FAPT screwed up and left a EURCHF sell position open for 14 hours yesterday, closed with a loss €105 on my Alpari UK account. Luckily Megadroid did well yesterday and recovered most of that loss. Also MD made very nice returns on my Forex.com/UK account.

Well, today is another story… FAPT haven’t made anything basically (well, two orders with €3 profit…) but Megadroid, boy oh boy. It lost me €207 on Alpari UK and $356 (!!!) on Forex.com/UK. It will take weeks of good results to get this back. Crap.

So, other than loosing money it also seems that I lost MD Pro. For some reason I’m not connected to Donnaforex as a affiliate on my FAPT Evolution purchase yesterday (even thou I used her link). So right now it seems I’m not getting MD Pro. I’m talking to ClickBank and Donna. If this doesn’t get settled with me getting MD Pro I’m refunding. So tired of crap like this.

To sum it up. Right now I feel like just running RoboMiner (perhaps on FXCM/UK with their quite nice spreads on AUDNZD) and check in to that account once a month. Don’t even want to see a single $ loss right now. Crap.

    Whoa! Are you serious? I did the same as you, I only clicked her link…but, I did receive the general mass e-mail from Donna thanking me for purchasing through her and saying that she was overwhelmed and that the MegaDroid support team would be helping her out and sending out her settings along with the MegaDroid Pro copy. Did you receive this e-mail as well?

    Also, your EURUSD losses with MegaDroid…were those outside the default trading time? I remember you mentioning that you rejiggered MD a bit to trade 12 hours instead of the usual amount. It’s pretty unusual to have two consecutive losses with MD on default settings. I’m sorry to hear that man!

    @Dan
    Yeah, it seems to have happened to a lot of people, very disturbing. As I couldn’t get ClickBank to change the affiliate (and Donna of course couldn’t just give me MD Pro) I bought another copy. That one is correctly linked to Donna and I have received the link for MD Pro download now.

    Of the $356 losses by MD $279 was in one trade with the standard settings. So sure, my extra charts made it worse, but -$279 is huge. I’ve turned down risks all over the board today.

    Ugh, that isn’t good at all…on the bright side though, doesn’t MD double up the risk when you lose for the next trade? Curious to see if you get a portion of that money back on the next successful trade.

    This was pretty much Day 1 for Pro, and on my account I had it running pretty low risk…I had a successful trade on EURUSD that yielded $1.20, then a EURCHF for $.56. However, I lost $3.93 on EURGBP, and am currently losing on USDCHF (down $4.18). Not looking good for Pro so far. I wonder if this is due to the spreads?

    @Dan
    I don’t use recovery mode, I want to take the same risk every time.

    MD Pro on demo have done two successful trades in USDCHF for me. It is probably down to spreads and quality of the stream from your broker. I’m guessing that a good ECN broker would be the best (just like for regular MD and FAPT).

    I had exactly the same issue using DonnaForex affiliate link. The people from Fapturbo/Clickbank said they are sorry but there is nothing to do…

    Considering I have just heard about the Evolution through Donna and Megadroid, there is no sense for such a error. I have asked them id Donna is not my affiliate, which one is defined for my purchase?

    Let’s wait for their reply, but since the Evolution is Sold Out, I cannot ask for a refund and buy it again as you did. What do you recommned?

    Thanks and best regards

    @emc2forex
    Yeah, of course they could change it if they wanted to. It’s just that their service desk isn’t allowed to I guess.

    Well it is sold out right now, but there probably will be another release, but getting two licenses is a gamble. It is not garuanteed that ClickBank refunds the first one, and even if they do they have banned ppl in the past from future purchases after refunds.

    On the other hand, MD Pro doesn’t really live up to the hype as it doesn’t trade 24/5 and it’s really only one new pair compared to a FAPT + regular MD setup and that is USDCHF. And that pair doesn’t even do very well in backtests. So perhaps you ain’t even missing much? Time will tell.

    @admin
    From what I’ve seen, USDCHF and EURGPB are losers with MD Pro, whereas EURUSD and EURCHF have been at 100% win rate thus far. However, the wins are considerably smaller than the losses, good thing I only had .01 lot sizes. Even then, I lost $17 on EURCHF…shoulda manually closed that out when it was down to $2, but I had to see if MD Pro was truly going to be wrong or not. Sure enough…

    @Dan
    USDCHF are doing quite well in backtests for me, the best settings seems to be manual GMT -19 with aggressive=true. Just started testing EURGBP, it sure takes a while to test everything. :)
